Liberty Egg is making its first political endorsement. We hope our wide readership (LOL) will consider and vote for Chris Gabrielli for Massachusetts Governor. Gabrielli is the first Democrat in a long time that can challenge the Republican lock on the corner office by presenting a thoughtful set of policy prescriptions and plans that are not connected to the "business as usual" on Beacan Hill. While Deval Patrick might make the same claim, Gabrielli is better suited in our opinion to stand against Kerry Healy due to his views on such issues as the income tax rollback (for it - with a plan to fund it out of revenue growth, not just promise to do it somehow), Job creation and investment in research (funding it like a successful Venture Capitalist, as he is - not just saying "spend money on UMass"), and education (fund innovation that occurs on a local level - this might be merrit pay in a town where all parties agree to it, including teachers, or it might be a funding a longer school day in at risk neighborhoods. Gabrielli might not be as polished as other politicians, but he is well poised to deliver on the promise that Mitt Romney failed to deliver on...a successful businessman who has funded and helped good ideas to grow can help do the same for our state. He will also be in step with the state on social issues and not put religious tennets above good public policy.
We would ask our readers to go to the polls on Tuesday and vote for Chris Gabrielli.
