I have just created my first blog and am writing my first post on the day that John Kerry has accepted his party's nomination for President and that I have been planning the growth of the business with which I am charged. I can think of no more appropriate confluence of events for the begining of this blog...OK, maybe if I could also write about the fantastic meal I had tonight at a great new restaurant. Alas, tonight was take-out from Campo del Fiori, which in and of itself may deserve a post in the future...but I digress...
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I think alot. In fact, Julie and the boys often stare at me as I stare into nothing....pondering something. What I tend to think about, beyond my family, is politics, policy, business and opportunity. I am a once and future entrepreneur who is obsessed with current events, foreign affairs, business opportunity and the march of technology. While I have been reading blogs for many months (in fact years) now, I have not blogged myself until now. I am doing so not only because I have things to say and like to say them, I am also doing so because I think writing about ones thoughts helps one to think them out.
In this sense, I think that blogging is not only important because it lets us hear peoples views and opinions, but also because it allows them to build their arguments and form their thoughts as they write. As someone who thinks alot, I could use the help in focusing my thoughts...and it's a cool way to reach the people whom I never seem to have enough time to have those thoughtful conversations...as well as post photos of my ever-growing children for our far-flung cast of ex-au pairs to keep up with.
So here's to the convergence of thoughts that make up a person...in this case, me.
